Wound Care is a rapidly changing field of healthcare ~ 6th Annual Wound Care Conference
Advanced Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Physical Therapists and Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses are invited to attend Inland Hospital’s 6th Annual Wound Care Conference on Thursday, November 19, 2009 in Waterville. Topics include the latest on venous disease, wound pain, skin tears, as well as incontinence related wound care.
Sharon Evans, RN, CWOCN of Molnlycke Health Care, Norcross, GA; Ashley Robertson, MD of Vascular Care of Maine, EMMC; and Karen Espenshade, RN, of Covidien will conduct presentations. Participants will also gain educational credits.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to describe venous disease-how it happens, why it happens; list ways to treat venous disease both conservatively and with intervention; describe appropriate assessment and documentation for wound related pain; identify treatment strategies to reduce wound related pain throughout the wound healing process; and define the three categories of skin tears.
