BANGOR, ME —The Acadia Hospital’s new Chief Nursing Officer is Karen Clements , RN, BSN, MSB.
Clements, who will begin her new position right after Labor Day, commented, “I am truly excited about this unique opportunity to work with such dedicated, professional individuals to provide the best psychiatric care to our region.”
Clements has been a nurse since 1988, and has worked at EMMC for the past 19 years. While at EMMC she steadily assumed more responsibilities as a staff nurse, charge nurse, department manager, and finally administrator.
In her most recent position at EMMC, Clements served as administrator for patient care services, a role in which she was responsible for coordinating patient care throughout EMMC’s extensive tertiary services. Some particular areas of focus for Clements have been quality patient care, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction among the various departments.
“Karen is a welcome addition to the Acadia Hospital leadership team,” stated Acadia President and CEO David S. Proffitt, PhD. “Her extensive nursing background and administrative experience will help move Acadia forward on our mission of caring.”
