BANGOR, ME —The Acadia Hospital’s new Vice President of Patient Services and Risk Management is Deb Sanford, RN, MS, MBA.

In her new role, scheduled to begin August 30, Sanford will be responsible for administrative leadership of patient care.

“I am excited to join The Acadia Hospital team as they continue their mission to be the best and safest psychiatric hospital in the nation,” commented Sanford.

In her previous position at EMMC, Sanford functioned as the patient care administrator for Advanced Surgical Care of Maine, Women's and Children's Services and Stroke Services. As a member of the EMMC administrative leadership team, Deb brought to the table a unique perspective with her experience as a nurse, in operations and as an information technology leader.

“I am very pleased to have someone of Deb’s caliber take the vice president of patient services and risk management position,” stated Acadia President and CEO David S. Proffitt, PhD. “Her nursing perspective and technology skills will help drive Acadia forward as we look to strengthen our care delivery systems.”
